EXHIBITORS
Center for Patient Safety Information
The Center for Patient Safety Information is web-based repository of data on patient safety and related issues, which includes — on separate pages — patient safety updates and videos, directory of organizations devoted to patient safety and quality care, compendium of companies that supply patient safety services and products, forum to discuss patient safety issues, access to a slideshow “How Safe is YOUR Hospital?”, and information on how to become a CPSI sponsor. Its purpose is to report success stories and obstacles to progress, promote coordination and collaboration and reveal gaps and duplications in efforts, and inspire innovation. CPSI also facilitates organizations and suppliers to reach hospitals, nursing homes, and surgi/urgi-care centers, as well as business leaders, policy makers, legislators, regulators, and consumers. This includes promoting conferences and publications and presenting strategies and items that are designed to improve safety.

Health Watch USA (HW USA)
Health Watch USA (HW USA) is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the improvement of patient safety through healthcare transparency and the improvement of quality metrics. HW USA performs healthcare policy research and has published in peer-reviewed journals analyses on metrics used to measure CAUTIs, CLABSIs and MRSA. Most recently HW USA has called for better tracking systems for antibiotic resistant bacteria and found that some of the CDC’s data may even show an increase in MRSA infections. Of paramount importance is measurement and lowering of hospital mortality. HW USA has published estimates of preventable patient mortality in the Journal of Patient Safety and advocates that the healthcare industry can do much better. Patient safety and healthcare quality awareness is promoted through the internet and at HW USA’s annual patient safety conference. Many past presentations can be viewed at www.healthconference.org.
